About the IMC

Foreword

Investment migration has grown significantly over the past decade. Immigration options for investors have become topics of significant interest among international clients as well as practitioners and companies providing services to such clients. Likewise, countries are increasingly keen on attracting more foreign direct investment through investor immigration and citizenship programs.

Who we are

The Investment Migration Council (IMC) is the worldwide forum for investment migration, bringing together the leading stakeholders in the field. The IMC sets global standards, provides qualifications and publishes in-demand research in the field of investment migration aimed at governments, policy makers, international organisations, and the public. It is an impact focused Swiss based (non-profit)  membership organisation in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations since 2019 and registered with the European Commission Joint Transparency Register Secretariat (ID: 337639131420-09).

The IMC helps to improve public understanding of the issues faced by clients and governments in this area and promotes education and high professional standards among its members.

The IMC is constituted as a not-for-profit association under Swiss law. Based in Geneva, it has representative offices in New York, London, Dubai, Hong Kong and Grand Cayman. Managed by a Secretariat under the direction of a Governing Board, The IMC also has a non-executive Advisory Committee, in which the most important investment migration stakeholders are represented.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple and straightforward: it is about setting the global standards for others to follow and promoting competence and ethical behaviour. Additionally, we improve public understanding and transparency investment migration through various initiatives, including academic research. We are the leading platform for governments, academia and professionals.

Who Participates?

Members of the IMC’s Governing Board and Advisory Committee as well as Founding Members include the following and many more distinguished individuals from the Academic and Professional global investment migration field: Fragomen LLP, Refinitiv, Exiger, Latitude, Henley & Partners, Visas Consulting Group, and KPMG amongst others. The IMC is funded by membership fees, donors and income from activities such as events, education and training, and publications.

Aside from delivering on key initiatives impacting investment migration, the IMC organises an annual Forum – The Investment Migration Forum, dubbed the ‘Davos’ of Investment Migration; and other events in which high-level speakers are invited to address issues that are of interest to investment migration, governments, policy makers and international organisations.
