GETTING THERE

By Air

London Heathrow Airport
Welcoming more than 80 million passengers in 2019, London Heathrow Airport (LHR) is the largest aviation hub in the world and the UK’s largest airport. One of the world’s most advanced airports, Heathrow is easily accessible by Tube, train (via the Heathrow Express with direct link to Paddington station), or by taxi. The newly opened Elizabeth line provides direct access to central London in about 30 minutes. It is operated by Transport for London and part of the Oyster card and contactless ticketing system.

London Gatwick Airport
In 2019, London Gatwick (LGW) sent 46.6 million customers on their way making it the UK’s second largest airport. The Gatwick Express is a direct train service linking the airport to the centrally located Victoria station in 30 minutes. Thameslink and Southern rail operators also offer train services from Gatwick to several central London stations within 30 minutes.

London Stansted Airport
London Stansted Airport (STN) is one of Europe’s fastest-growing airports with many budget airlines offering flights to Europe. The quickest way into central London is via the Stansted Express with trains to London Liverpool Street station taking 50 minutes.

London City Airport
Located in the east side of the city, London City Airport (LCY) is the smallest airport in London. Its single runway handles short-haul flights with a strong emphasis on business travel to Europe. It is the closest airport to central London, with easy access via the DLR network, as well as taxis. It is also the closest airport to London’s largest convention centre,  ExCeL London.

London Southend Airport
London Southend Airport (SEN) is one of the UK’s fastest-growing regional airports. Trains to the centrally located Liverpool Street station run every 10 to 20 minutes and the journey time is less than an hour.

By Train

Eurostar
Flying isn’t the only way to get to London. The high-speed rail service Eurostar is the ultimate travel experience, with a choice of frequent departures, speedy check-in and direct routes between European city centres. Eurostar’s high-speed trains have revolutionised travel between the UK and continental Europe. London is just a little more than two hours from Paris or Brussels or four hours from Amsterdam.
