Common Reporting Standard and Mandatory Disclosure Rules within Investment Migration

Zac Lucas, Partner, McCarthy Denning

During this “Crossing Borders” broadcast, we will be having a discussion with Zac Lucas about how the regulation of the investment migration industry continues to develop. Concerns surrounding the use of investment migration to circumvent reporting under the OECD Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and its EU equivalent (DAC2) has resulted in publication and local enactment of the OECD Mandatory Disclosure Rules for CRS Avoidance Arrangements (MDRs) and its EU equivalent (DAC6). The planned webinar coincides with launch of the dedicated IMC CRS/MDR learning module, and is designed to introduce key issues surrounding the CRS and MDR as they apply to migration agents and steps migration agents need to take in order to remain compliant.
